On March 20, 1969, Lennon married his new wife, Yoko Ono, who was a factor in John stepping down from his role as the pianist, guitarist, & much more in The Beatles. On April 8, 1963, John & Cynthia Powell's (John's ex-wife) had their son, John Charles Julian Lennon. For several years, Yoko & John created music together & moved to the United States in September of 1971.
In many of Lennon's songs (both solo & with The Beatles) his music had a powerful impact on society & influenced many things like life activities, fashion, goals, attitude, & language. "The band taught people how to celebrate freedom and changed social norms. Their expression helped pave the way for modern individuality in music."
